The Image of the Real Estate Agent

One of the biggest complaints of sellers about their real
estate agent is that once they list the property, they are
never heard from again. Some licensees certainly behave
this way, and it is these agents that make the public think
that the job of a licensee is a nothing job. As someone’s
agent, the licensee must understand that s/he has taken on,
as an obligation, the seller’s most valuable possession.
The licensees obligation is to make sure the seller obtains
the most money possible from a sale of their real property.
Unfortunately, some licensee tend to look at listing
someone’s property as just another day at the job, If this
is the way you view it, you should be in another business.

Representing the seller means putting yourself in his/her
shoes and understanding the effect of each action you take.
You must be the seller’s ears, gathering every bit of
information and feedback so you can assure the best
opportunity for a sale. Gathered information must be
disclosed to the seller you represent, providing him/her
everything you know about your own actions, the seller’s
actions and the actions of those who inquire about or show
the property. From this disclosed information, the seller
must make his/her own choices as to what to do or not to do
in marketing the property. Once the seller makes a
decision, the agent must obey totally, doing exactly what
the seller wants done, leaving behind the agent’s best
interest and focusing fully on the seller’s best interest
and how to achieve it.
